VOLUNTEER JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Basket Raffle: 

The Basket Raffle Committee is already in place.  Enthusiastic parents are needed to request donations from local businesses.  Creative parents are needed to make baskets.  Energetic parents are needed for set up the afternoon of the event and clean up after the event ends.  Ticket tearing can be done at home prior to the Basket Raffle.  Clearances are not required.

Kids Stuff: 

You will assist the current chairperson, to label and sort the Kids Stuff books, as well as assist her with any other tasks related to this fundraiser.  We would appreciate volunteers for this committee as soon as possible, as the Kids Stuff books are distributed to our students at the beginning of the school year. Clearances are not required with this role unless you will be in school during school hours for collection or distribution.  If assisting with sorting and labeling before school is in session, clearances are not required. 

  

Pretzel Counters:  

Count and deliver pretzels to classrooms. Time: 8:30 to 9:15am. Help is needed Monday thru Friday. Please give day/days available.  If you have a younger child at home you may bring them if they are quiet as school is in session.  The schedule for pretzel counters is coordinated by the chairperson.  

   

Grade Social Coordinators: 

We are in need of 2 Grade Social Coordinators for each grade to organize an after school social. The Coordinators will need to organize volunteers to help with an age appropriate social that will be within the budget given. He/She will have direction from the Grade Social Chair. Planning could be done at night from home.  This is a one time event for the year.  If we get too many volunteers, Coordinators will be selected at random. 

 

Mother & Son Dance: 

Volunteers are needed for the planning committee as well as on the night of the event. You would be working under the guidance of the chairperson.

 

Mother & Daughter Valentine Tea:   

This event is held on a Sunday.  Volunteers are needed for the planning committee as well as on the day of the event. You would be working under the guidance of the chairperson.

 

Father & Daughter Dance:   

Volunteers are needed for the planning committee as well as on the night of the event. You would be working under the guidance of the chairperson. 

 

Father & Son Social: 

This event is held on a Sunday.  Volunteers are needed for the planning committee as well as on the day of the event. You would be working under the guidance of the chairperson.

  

Teacher Appreciation Brunch: 

This event takes place during Catholic Schools Week in January.  Volunteers will work under the direction the Hospitality chairperson.  Volunteers will assist with the planning of the event as well as staff the event.

 

Recess Duty Volunteer:

Recess duty begins at 11:30 am and ends at 1:00 pm.  The number of volunteers needed is 3-5 daily.  Volunteers are asked to supervise the children while in the recess yard as well as in the classrooms on bad weather days.

 

When responding, please let us know which day/days you would be available and how often each month.  

 

We need lunch and recess volunteers beginning on the first day of school.  We would appreciate you volunteering for this role as soon as possible to allow for coordination of September's schedule this month.

 

Dads and grandparents can volunteer too.  Younger siblings are not permitted to accompany you for this role.

Lunch duty begins at 11:10am as some preparation is needed.  Lunch duty is over at 1:00pm.  3-5 volunteers are needed each day. Volunteers are asked to assist younger children when needed and help clean tables at the end of lunch.

Homeroom Helpers (parent/guardian volunteer for child's class):

Two volunteers are selected for each homeroom.

 

You do not have to wait to know what homeroom your student is in to submit your name for this role. When submitting you name, please include the grade of your student.  If you know your student's homeroom teacher, please indicate that as well (although this is not required). 

 

Some of the responsibilities for this role will include: coordinating a voluntary collection for the teacher at Christmas and the end of the year, organize any classroom parties at the teacher's request/direction, and help the teacher in the classroom when needed, supervise the classroom for the Teacher Appreciation brunch as well as the end of the year student assembly.   

 

If more than two people volunteer for a classroom, names will be pulled from a hat.

You will need to be available during the school day.  This selection will not take place until the fall. 

 

Uniform Exchange Volunteers:   

You will assist in maintaining order in the Uniform Exchange Closet. Flexible hours. The schedule of volunteers for this role is coordinated by the chairperson.

 

Box Top Counters:

Help count Box Tops and package as required.  Can be done at night from home.  Clearances are not required for this role. The Box Tops counters are coordinated by the chairperson. 

 

Redners Receipts:   

Assist the coordinator in the tallying and bundling of Redners receipts in preparation for submission to Redners.  You will work under the direction of the chairperson.  Clearances are not required for this role.

 

Spirit Wear: 

Assist the coordinator to run two spirit wear sales per school year (fall and spring) with an established vendor. You will be responsible for working with the vendor and school administration to select what products will be offered for each sale, negotiate pricing with the vendor if necessary, publicize the sale with a flyer as well as submission of information to be conveyed to parents via constant contact and distribute purchased product at school.  

 

Her Hideout Fundraiser: 

This event is held in November on a Sunday night. 

Dance-a-Thon: 

Help the event coordinator with planning, communication, and execution of this event.  Someone with accounting experience is needed to collect and count money that is raised during the event.  Clearances are required.

5K Run/Walk 

Help the event coordinator with planning and communication of this community fitness event, held on a weekend in springtime.  Clearances are required.

Secret Santa

Assist the Secret Santa organizer by setting up merchandise, ringing up and wrapping gifts, as well as cleaning up at the end of the event.  Students will need help shopping and balancing their budget.  This event is held during the school day during one week in Advent.  Clearances are required.

Public Relations

Assist the Public Relations coordinator by taking photos and writing Facebook posts or newspaper copy.  Clearances are required when photographing school events.
